In fairness

What HailTrace does that we don't.

Complete, as far as their pages go

If your business is built on certified per-address reports, or your crew works wind as much as hail, HailTrace covers ground Overview doesn't. These are the things their pages describe that we don't offer.

  • 01

A team of meteorologists who review each map by hand before it's published.

  • 02

Paid per-address reports, including meteorologist-signed and certified tiers, for claims and disputes.

  • 03

    Wind maps alongside hail.

  • 04

A 1–5 star ranking on every map.

Before you switch

Map quality. Workflow. Fit.

Straight answers, including when to stay put
  • How accurate is the hail map?

Every hail map on the market, ours included, is built from radar. Overview shows two surfaces for each storm date — the NEXRAD radar signature and the MESH radar-estimated size — and pins the NWS/SPC spotter reports beside them, so you can see where radar and the ground agree before you knock. HailTrace describes its maps as hand-reviewed by meteorologists and does not name the radar products it starts from; we publish ours and skip the review step. Radar tells you where to look. Only an inspection confirms damage at an address, on any map. The honest test is to open a storm date you worked this season in both tools and compare it to what your crew found on the roofs.
  • I already have HailTrace — why switch?

If you're locked into an annual HailTrace term, its terms say there's no refund or proration. Compare a storm date you know before your renewal. Overview offers hail maps, recommended prospecting areas, and canvassing in one iPhone workflow, at $149.99/month in the US App Store. 7-day free trial in the iPhone app. No card required to start. Homeowner contacts cost an optional $0.21 each. Consider the field workflow, your existing term, and your expected contact usage before switching.
  • When is HailTrace the better choice?

When you need a meteorologist's signature on a report for a claim dispute, or when your crews work wind events as much as hail. Overview's map is hail-only, and we don't produce certified reports.
